Cement Floor

Filed under: Building Status Update — Webmaster @ 8:38 pm

This image shows the cement crew just finishing up the final truck load of cement for the main portion of the building.

This image shows the cement complete, but not dry :) .  This main section of the floor will have a rubber membrane, a sub-floor, and then the wood floor.

This pad of cement will hold some electrical equipment that will power the building, both new and old.

They started putting up the Styrofoam base that will support the “stucco” like on the entrances to the school.  The front entrance to the activities center will also have this system, to match the other entrances of the building.

The final picture for today is an update to the front entrance.  They completed the brick around the front of the building here.   I would guesstimate that they are now about 1/2 complete with the brick for the project.

Front Images

This image shows the entrance way continuing to be worked on.

In this image shows the roof over the locker rooms and bathrooms, as well as the brick going up on the main part of the activities center.

This image is a “straight on” view of the entrance way.

They had to remove the plywood from the outside of the cross so they could start installing the glass block into it.  This is what it looks like from inside.

This image shows the preparation of the main area for pouring of the floor.

The brick continues to go up.

Here is another overview of the entire project.

Final Batch of Trusses Arrive…

Filed under: Building Status Update — Webmaster @ 9:23 pm

This is an image of what it currently looks like inside the main part of the building.  The bright sun is comming in the south east emergency exit.

This image shows the styrofoam awaiting installation on the floor before the concrete is poured.  This will insulate the floor from the cold ground underneath.

This wall is almost completely bricked.  Just a little more to go.

Here is a wide angle shot of the entire project area.  To the right of the picture you can see the rest of the trusses staged for installation.

Here is another overview shot, but from a different angle.  You can see that the front wall is almost completed with brick also.

The final image for today shows the other side of the building where a new entrance way will be going in, and the new pitched roof has replaced the flat roof.

Glass Block

Filed under: Building Status Update — Webmaster @ 6:57 pm

This image show the front of the building.  You can see they got a bunch of the brick on, and some the glass block windows installed also.

This image shows the cement floor in the mechanical room.  The other electrical / storage room also has the floor poured.

The floor for the main part of the building is starting to be compacted and leveled for concrete installation in the near future.

Here is another view of the glass block, but this time, it is from the inside of the building.

Stay tuned, things are starting to happen at an accelerated rate.

Brick

Filed under: Building Status Update — Webmaster @ 8:38 pm

This image shows the brick going up on the east end of the locker rooms.  Almost the entire brown band went up on this wall today.

Now that the scaffolding is down you can see the interior of the locker room and bathrooms.  There are more divider walls to be built, but the ground has to be completely thawed before that can happen.

This image shows another view of the locker room area.  This door is an emergency exit out of the boys rocker room.

Another view of the brick that is going up on the outside of the locker room area.  This is the north wall (near center street).
