the building

The wood floor has been delivered. The final floor is in the front, and the background shows the layers of plywood that go down first.

Here is a closer view of the strips that will make up the floor. You are actually seeing the bottom of the strips.

This is a view of the Tarrazo floor in the entry way. It is a little dusty, and has not been polished or waxed yet, but you can start to see the final product.

This image shows the painting completed in the main area of the Saint Paul Activities and Christian Enrichment Center as it was named by the Voters. You can also see (1) of the (4) clocks and some of the fire alarm equipment that has been installed. You can also see the dark green stripe that runs around the inside of the building.

This image shows the metal stripes that divide the sections of tarrazo flooring that will soon be installed.
Pictures from this weekends events will be posted soon, (I have to sort through the 100 or so that I took) but until then here are a few to keep you up to date.

This door has been painted to match the rest of the exterior doors on the building.

If you have not seen the front enterance this is what it looks like now.

The block work in the locker room area is nearly complete.

The painting is progressing along nicely. Some of you may notice the slighly different color on the wall. This is because the lower section does not have the final coat yet, only the block filler. You may also notice that the new lights have been uncovered and in this picture only 3/5ths are on, which still is plenty of light.
The Faith for the Journey BRIDGE team invites you to join us after all three services this weekend (June 6th and 7th) for a special one time event. Members of the congregation are invited to come to the Activities Center construction site, check out the progress, and write a bible verse of your choice on the floor. There will be an ice-cream social after the 7:30pm Saturday service, and cookies and brownies after both Sunday services.
We hope to see you there.

I know it is a little blury, but this shows the start of the painting.

The walls in the bathrooms are nearly complete.

The main entrance sidewalk is ready to be poured.
